Russel R. Allinson, RPh., MS, co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer of Therigy, the healthcare industry's leading source of advisory and consulting services related to specialty pharmaceuticals, has been appointed to a two-year term on the prestigious Corporate Council of The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.
Robert W. Brueggemeier, Ph.D., professor of medical chemistry and dean of the College of Pharmacy, said the Corporate Council was established in 1994 to provide interaction between academia and corporate entities to deal with the challenges and opportunities of healthcare.
"I am excited to welcome Russ Allinson to the Corporate Council. His professional experiences and background will bring a new dimension to the types of industry and expertise represented on the Council," Brueggemeier said.
Allinson said he is honored by the appointment.
"Therigy has been working to close the gap between state-of-the-art pharmacological research and practical applications in the healthcare arena," said Allinson. "The Corporate Council represents a great learning opportunity for us and a chance to contribute to one of the most critical issues that face this country's healthcare system today," he said.
The Corporate Council's new chair is Dr. Mark Sirgo, president and chief executive officer of BioDelivery Sciences International (Nasdaq:BDSI).
