Sr. DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for an engaging, and highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer, one with a passion about the pillars of DevOps: speed, stability, visibility, security and reproducibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux and Docker system and networking concepts along with troubleshooting techniques. Strong interpersonal and team skills are required with an ability to operate in an agile and dynamic environment.


Role Priorities

  • Train and mentor software engineers in DevSecOps best practices
  • Architect, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as code (Docker, Docker-Compose, Kubernetes Terraform)
  • Architect and improve technology operations auto scaling and fault tolerance capabilities
  • Architect and improve telemetry and reporting of systems and services
  • Implement security best practices through our SDLC
  • Architect and maintain solutions that increase our build process efficiency and speed
  • Architect solutions that increase cross department collaboration, communication, and process efficiency  
  • Participate in DevOps agile planning and ceremonies
  • Architect high availability cloud infrastructure
  • Contributor in our migration efforts into Serverless and Kubernetes
  • Participate as a contributor in code reviews
  • Evangelize a DevSecOps culture throughout the organization



  • Responsible for providing leadership and hands on improvement of the automation and tools surrounding the software CI/CD pipeline
  • Continually improve our policies, procedures, and security posture for alignment to HITRUST
  • Automation of operations processes to enable our SDLC and the teams driving our client-facing SaaS application, TherigySTM
  • Responsible for delivering scalable infrastructure defined as code and collaborating with DevOps team for resource provisioning, infrastructure management, and configuration management
  • Build and maintain telemetry for our automated build process, deployments, and environment operations
  • Proactively work towards improving efficiency and resiliency of our build and deployment process
  • Improve and maintain workflows and integrations that benefit the speed and visibility of our SDLC
  • Assist software engineers in the root cause analysis of operations incidents
  • Communication and collaboration with stakeholders for operationalizing application environments and maintaining an agreed upon SLA
  • Empowering people across the organization to work more efficiently by architecting enterprise solutions that reduce the need for manual labor
  • Enhance the reliability and sustainability of application environments
  • Architecting solutions for blue/green or canary (zero downtime) deployments
  • Documentation of DevOps processes, tools, and knowledge base
  • Project planning and execution of infrastructure migrations, enhancements, and scaling
  • Training and mentoring IT staff in DevSecOps best practices
  • Collaborate with DevOps team on improving backup and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Cost management and reporting of technology operations resources
  • Creation, improvement, and analysis of system telemetry alarms


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Equivalent experience will be considered (Degree Preferred)
  • 4+ years architecting solutions in AWS
  • 2+ years dockerizing applications and defining infrastructure as code
  • 2+ years developing with Kubernetes
  • 2+ years spearheading an organization’s DevOps transformation as a DevOps engineer
  • 4+ years as a software engineer
  • 4+ years working with Linux systems
  • 2+ years using Docker orchestration tools such as Rancher, Docker-Compose, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.
  • 3+ years building highly available infrastructure
  • Successfully integrated zero downtime deployment solutions
  • Demonstrable knowledge of proxies such as Nginx or HAProxy
  • Good understanding of networking principles and DNS
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • knowledge of HIPAA best practices
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities between project based work and operational day to day tasks
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • ITIL experience (highly desired)
  • HITRUST audit experience (highly desired)
  • Agile experience
  • Creative thinker with a vision and attention to detail for improving the speed of software delivery and the stability of technology operations.
  • Specialty Pharmacy and/or Healthcare experience preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Dependable in attendance and job performance
  • Ability to manage the expectations of their manager and colleagues
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating the performance of cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable talking about technical with the business and talking about business with technical. Able to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences
  • Ability to drive process changes and help craft how the future of DevOps should look at our company.
  • Have a knack for making people more productive by introducing them to improved ways of accomplishing objectives leveraging technology
